The Watson Hotel

Made our reservations the last minute and had no problems getting a room. Did the reservations online, and it was super easy. Very friendly staff, and very clean place. When registering in, we were greeted with a smile and kindness. Our housekeeper Vera was very pleasant and even left us a few extras. We ate in the Skylight Lounge two nights, and in the Gotham Cafe for breakfast one morning. The staff was very pleasant and the food was excellent. I really feel that for what we had to eat, the prices were very reasonable and the portions were excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. Had a pleasant stay before we had to catch our cruise.

We stayed there 4 nights and were satisfied with this hotel. The rooms are relatively large and though old, the bathroom decent. The decor is outdated and unpleasant in the corridors but the rest of the hotel is good. Housekeeping staff was lovely and very friendly. The bar staff however was extremely rude and unprofessional. The towels smelled bad but apart from that the hotel was clean overall. For the price in comparison to other hotels in the area, this place is good.

The beds are VERY comfortable. The value was excellent for the location and the pool. The hotel staff was extremely friendly during every interaction. The hotel has signs of wear and tear. My shower water went completely cold mid shower around noon and the first couple days we had keep problems. But we enjoyed our stay. If you're in New York City, you probably aren't in your room very often and all you truly need is a safe place with cimfocomforbeds and hot showers. This place gives you that. Seriously, the beds are great.

Rooms were lovely, bed was very comfortable, coffee was delicious and the breakfasts were very good. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and I just loved my stay. If there was one thing I would change it would be the hallways to the rooms. A bit of paint on the walls and some new carpet would make it feel so much more modern, as the hallways currently look like the halls in the hotel from the Shining.

Overall, it was OK. The rooms were clean, but old. Our AC did not work during the heat wave, so they sent someone to tune it and a 2nd person to plug in a fan. We had the fan blowing 100% of the time and that helped a great deal, although I guess I was hoping to be placed in a new room. All in all, if you have the attitude of just needing a clean bed to sleep in for a decent price, this is a great hotel. The elevators were somewhat of an irritation, I took the stairs several times instead due to the slowness and amount of people waiting for them. They are slow and creaky and sometimes took several minutes to get to you. The pool was great, and clean. Loved the music they played at the pool but getting a chair at the pool can be challenging. We had a late night dessert at the restaurant and the service was wonderful, food was good. We had a couple of encounters with the room cleaning service as well and the ladies were always very, very pleasant. The bed gave my husband and I both a backache, we tried to sleep on the outer edge of the bed as the middle was sunken in. We are content with our stay in general!

The pool on the roof is awesome! Parking fee was a little steep, but worth it. Location is amazing.

The hotel is decently located, the rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. It is a bit old but has a comfy feel. Our room's ac was under part and the toilets could use some updating. This is my third year coming to this hotel (used to be a holiday inn) because it is convent lyrics located for my work. All in all it is good but do not expect plush luxury. Great place to crash in NYC!

I stayed here when I was homeless and I have to say that they encouraged me to turn my life around and be more proactive in finding work. I'm proud to say that I am a success story and a VERY successful Security Officer given a second chance in life through their guidance.
